Pike Poles

Nupla fire tools are renowned for their strength, safety and durability and are available with two sturdy handle styles – Super Duty and Featherlight - with ergonomic grip options.  All fire tools are installed with Genuine Nuplaglas® fiberglass handles using patented pultrusion technology.

Pike Poles are popular with fire departments around the country and are offered with Super Duty and Featherlight handle configurations.  Super Duty handles with a solid “I” beam construction have a finger rib for easy pole head identification in low visibility.  Featherlight handles, with their lighter honeycomb core construction, provide the same strength with an ounce weight savings over heavier Super Duty models.  Wide range of lengths from 3 ft. to 25 ft. available in both Super Duty and Featherlight models with butt, D and aluminum D-grip options.

Roof Ventilation Hook Poles were developed by Nupla to provide a rugged tool for ventilation of buildings constructed of modern sheet material such as plywood.  Ductile iron casting has two hooks for enhanced control of sheet materials, and broader surface for sounding.  “V” structural supports prevent hook from hanging up.  Available in the Featherlight model in lengths from 3 ft. to 25 ft. with butt, D and aluminum D-grip options.

Ceiling/Wall Hook Poles are useful for both lathe/plaster and sheet materials.  A honed point penetrates up to 4” of material and creates a broad opening while its four broad teeth grip the material firmly.  Set at 45 degrees, the hook facilitates working in tight confines.   Available in Super Duty and Featherlight models from 4 ft. to 6 ft. with butt, D and aluminum D-grip options.

Nuplaglas patented composite handle construction consists of millions of continuous parallel fiberglass strands cured under tension in a thermosetting resin.  This process produces the toughest Super Duty handles featuring a  solid “I” beam cross section with finger rib for identifying the pole head in low visibility.  The Featherlight model features a composite construction over a lightweight honeycomb core with solid fiberglass reinforcement at critical stress points.

The strength of Nuplaglas handles exceeds all Federal standards.  Flame resistant to 800 degrees Fahrenheit, the handles resist heat to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, and are unaffected by sub zero temperatures.  They have excellent dielectric properties that make them safe to use in wet conditions.  Smooth, resin rich handle surfaces protect users from splinters and resist UV deterioration.   Nuplaglas handles are unaffected by cuts and blows.  They do not absorb moisture, resist most industrial chemicals, are fire retardant and easily cleaned of concrete, tar, etc. Nuplaglas handled tools have a high shelf life since they are unaffected by fungus, termites or dry rot as are wood handled tools.

Nuplaglas handled tools are more rigid than wood or most other fiberglass handled tools, reducing wasted effort.
