Fire Tool Replacement Handles

Nupla offers super strong Nuplaglas ® fiberglass replacement handles for their fire tools in two popular styles – Super Duty and Featherlight.  Broad range of handle lengths available in both styles from 4 ft. to 20 ft. with butt, standard D-grip and aluminum D-grip options.

All handles meet and exceed ANSI and U.S. Federal Specifications.

Genuine Nuplaglas handles are made of pultruded structural fiberglass.  The composite handle construction consists of millions of continuous parallel fiberglass strands cured under tension in a thermosetting resin.  The heavy duty Super Duty style handles feature a  solid “I” beam cross section with finger rib for easy identification of the pole head in low visibility.  The Featherlight handle style, which provides the same strength as the Super Duty in a lighter configuration, features a composite construction over a lightweight honeycomb core with solid fiberglass reinforcement at critical stress points.  The patented pultrusion process produces handles with optimum strength-to-weight ratios and provides the user with safety and durability in all heavy duty industrial applications.

The smooth, resin rich surfaces of Nuplaglas handles protect users from splinters and resist UV deterioration.  Flame resistant to 800 degrees Fahrenheit, the handles resist heat to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, and are unaffected by sub zero temperatures.  All Nuplaglas replacement handles have a built in dielectric safety feature since fiberglass is one of the finest insulators available.  The handles can be used in wet conditions where moisture-laden wood or tubular steel would have disastrous results.  They do not conduct heat or cold and are impervious to industrial chemicals making them safe to use around acids, oils, fuels or other contaminants and are easily cleaned of concrete, tar etc.  In addition, the handles have a high shelf life since they are unaffected by fungus, termites or dry rot as are wood handles.
