Power Pylon Shovels & Spades

Power Pylon heavy duty industrial grade shovels and spades are available in the most popular blade styles – round and square point, drain and garden spades, super duty landscape spades, and trenching shovels.  They feature a choice of ergonomic industrial grade fiberglass handles in long and short D-grip configurations for comfort and durability, unique blade designs, and strength of the revolutionary Power Pylon.

The Power Pylon® - which is one of Nupla’s revolutionary patented innovations - is designed for digging tools.  It redefines the “shovel” and sets upgraded standards to which all competitive products will strive to match.

The technology features a molded fiberglass reinforced engineering composite structure which produces an integral fusion of Nuplaglas® handle and digging tool blade, a design derived from aerospace applications which eliminates the “weak link” rivet connection used in traditional shovels.  It is this unique design which balances the performance of blade and handle, maximizing the load-bearing strength of the tool.  Power Pylon tools are better balanced and weigh less than like tools.

The Power Pylon handle is one integral unit – Power Pylon, handle, and grip.  The design of an uninterrupted handle shaft provides dielectric safety in preventing the hand from sliding to the blade. The handle is bolted to the blade with hard steel bolts secured by all temperature nylon locking threads.

The solid back Power Pylon blade design allows consolidation of open back, closed back, and solid shank shovel inventories.  Replaceable blades, available in a kit complete with mounting hardware, make the product even more economical.  Specially designed blades provide 17% increased volume/capacity than traditional blades.  They are 22% stiffer and have a 400% larger forward tread.
