Landscape, Janitorial, Cleaning Tools

Nupla’s offering in this group includes Landscape tools – Rakes, Hoes and Sod Cutters; Ice Scrapers - and Janitoral tools such as Squeegees and Brooms.

Rakes – three patterns available – Bow Rakes, Landscape Rake and Leaf Rake.

Bow Rakes used for general purpose and landscape/garden raking have sturdy 16-tine heads, 16 ¼” wide, made from ¼” plate steel. These tanged heads are assembled to Classic® Nuplaglas® fiberglass handles using a patented heat drive process that makes for a rigid and permanent bond of head to handle without the use of epoxy.  The rake is offered with three handle styles – Classic Nuplaglas, Classic Nuplaglas with a Protec® covered sleeve made of durable Nuplaflex® that adds protection and comfort while providing a superior gripping surface and minimizing wear; and Classic Nuplaglas with a Featherlight (lighter) handle.

Landscape Great Rake has a 36” extra-wide rake head made of extruded aluminum.  The newly designed head includes bracing for added strength.  With a heavy duty Classic Nuplaglas handle, this Landscape Rake makes quick work of large jobs.

Leaf Rake  with a 24-tine 23” wide forged steel blade and bonded 54” Classic Nuplaglas handle is used for gathering grass clippings and cleaning up of Fall leaves together with general purpose soil raking.

Hoes – One pattern offered with three durable Lifetime® Nuplaglas handle styles: Classic, Classic with Protec, and Featherlight

Classic Hoe has a 7” x 5” forged 12 gauge steel blade permanently attached to a Nuplaglas handle by means of a patented heat drive process that makes for a rigid and permanent bond of head to handle without the use of epoxy.  The Hoe is ideal for chopping, weeding and making furrows.  The handle is also available with a Protec® covered sleeve made of durable Nuplaflex® that adds protection and comfort while providing a superior gripping surface and minimizing wear. A Featherlight handle is another option.

Sod Cutter can also be used as a Cable Drop Tool.  The 8” x 8” sod cutter blade, with beveled edges and full comfortable step, is constructed of sturdy 3/8” steel plate welded to a 14 gauge tube shank and riveted to the Nuplaglas handle.  This all-weather durable tool is available in two handle lengths -  44” and 54”.  Great for cutting straight edges in sod, this tool can also be used for digging a trench for cable-laying with minimum soil invasion.  The 44” handle is also offered with an optional Protec® covered sleeve made of durable Nuplaflex® that adds protection and comfort while providing a superior gripping surface and minimizing wear.  In addition to landscape/horticultural, this tool is useful in the telecom and utility industries.

Ice Scraper has a 1/8” thick blade made of steel plate.  The 8 ½ x 6” wide blade has a 60-degree angled beveled edge and is solidly welded to a 12” long shank.  Installed with a rivet attachment to a Classic 54” Nuplaglas handle, this heavy duty tool is ideal for chipping/loosening frozen sidewalks and walkways of ice and is also handy for scraping away remnants of adhesive after carpet removal.  An optional solid 54” Nuplaglas handle is available for heavier applications.

Squeegee has a 36” wide, durable, chemical resistant neoprene edge on a 36” extruded aluminum frame.  Together with a chemical and moisture-resistant 66” Nuplaglas fiberglass handle, this tool is ideal for industrial clean-up and after a fire.  The replaceable neoprene blade edge is also sold separately.

Brooms offered in three sizes – 24”, 30” and 36” wide heads - all with Classic Nuplaglas handles in lengths from 48” to 72”.  Heavy duty industrial type broom heads with brackets are made of prime lacquered wood block with stiff, chemical-resistant Durene bristles.   Bracketed fiberglass handles have tough mating reinforced nylon threads for quick screw-in assembly.  Broom heads and handles are sold separately.

Classic Nuplaglas handles exceed all Federal standards and are made of pultruded structural fiberglass that is composed of millions of continuous parallel fiberglass strands cured under tension in a thermosetting resin with reinforced sections at critical stress points.  This design produces optimum strength-to-weight ratios and provides the user with safety and durability required in all heavy duty applications.

All Nupla handles have excellent dielectric properties that make them safe to use even in wet conditions.  Smooth, resin rich handle surfaces protect users from splinters and resist UV deterioration.  The handles are unaffected by cuts, blows, moisture, or most industrial chemicals and are easily cleaned of concrete, tar etc.  In addition, the tools have a high shelf life since they are unaffected by fungus, termites or dry rot as are wood handled tools.
