Nupla’s Classic® Shovels have been the industry standard for over fifty years.  These super duty shovels represent the latest technology in fiberglass tool handle production.  Classic shovels are used by top companies worldwide in all types of industry from oil, electric and water utilities, to mining, railroads, landscape, fire and construction.  They provide safety, durability and dependability for a lifetime.

Nuplaglas® Classic shovel handles feature pultruded structural fiberglass that is composed of millions of continuous parallel fiberglass strands cured under tension in a thermosetting resin, with reinforced sections at critical stress points.  This design produces optimum strength-to-weight ratios and provides the user with safety and durability in all heavy duty industrial applications.  Further strength is added to the shovel by means of a patented compression bar integral to the handle that fills and reinforces the throat of the blade.

Classic fiberglass shovel handles have a built in dielectric safety feature since fiberglass is one of the finest insulators available.  Classic shovels can be used in wet conditions where moisture-laden wood or tubular steel would have disastrous results.  They do not conduct heat or cold and are impervious to industrial chemicals making them safe to use around acids, oils, fuels or other contaminants.  Nuplaglas handled tools have a high shelf life since they are unaffected by fungus, termites or dry rot as are wood handled tools.

Available in a wide selection of popular blade styles including round point and square point - in variations of closed back, heavy gauge and solid shank patterns - drain spade, garden spade, roofers ripping, serrated roofers ripping, irrigation and sewer spade.  In addition, the shovels feature a choice of long or short D-handle configurations and comfort grips.
